Elektra Natchios is daughter of a Greek ambassador in the USA who studied martial arts as youngster. She studied political science at the New York Columbia University, where she met student Matt Murdock who would become Daredevil later. They fall in love and Matt reveals to her that he has superhuman senses, which compensates his blindness. Elektra and her father are held hostage by terrorists in a building on campus then one day. Matt wears a scarf as mask who tries to rescue them and defeated the terrorists with help of Elektra, however her father is shot dead by a policeman who mistook him for a terrorist. The emotionally shattered Elektra wanted to withdraw from the world and left America  because she no longer believed in the law.

She moves to Japan where she joins the ''secret organization of martial artists'' of Stick who was also the sensei of Matt Murdock. She developed her martial arts skills greatly in one year under the wings of Stick. He asked her to leave the group because she's still filled with pain of her father's death. Elektra returned to her previous sensei and is determined to prove herself to Stick. She infiltrated in an organisation named ''The Hand'', a secret order of ninjas who are devoted to assassination and domination through fear. She intended to subvert their activities, but ''The Hand'' has tricked her into killing her sensei. She fled back to Japan after some time with ''The Hand'', because they were too criminal and corrupted.

Elektra works as bounty hunter and hired assassin around the world for many years. Her path crosses Daredevil while working in New York City and discovers that he's her old love Matt Murdock. Both are still cared deeply for one another, but Daredevil is vehemently against its activities. They both fought against ''The Hand'', until she is hired to kill Matt's best friend and law partner Franklin "Foggy" Nelson. She could not complete the assassination, because Foggy recognized her as "Matt's girl'' Elektra. She is soon afterward killed by Bullseye who sought to reclaim his former position as Kingpin. She died in Matt Murdock's arms, seemingly lost forever. Elektra was eventually resurrected back again in life by Stone who is member of Stick's order, even though the process was initiated by the ''Hand''. She became hired assassin again, but she did not reveal herself to Matt for many years. Elektra helps him still in times of great need when their paths cross. She is hired to kill a father and daughter on an abandoned island, where she accidentally meets them and stays together with them in an hut after their meeting. She decides to spare them, after getting good contact with father and daughter. She protects them after they are attacked by the assassins of ''The Hand''. She kills all members of the ''Hand'' one by one after a bloody battle. She has assassinated many people and is still booked as hitman who does all sorts of murders for the highest bidder.

Powers And Skills

• Her primary skills are a strong knowledge of martial arts and weaponry. 
• She has learned ancient Chinese, Siamese and Japanese martial arts styles. 
• She is a master of martial arts forms as ninjutsu, muay thai, capoeira, karate, Brazilian jiu jitsu and Okinawan martial arts.
• She is master combatant with the Okinawan sai which is her usual weapon of choice. 
• She is also highly skilled in the use of katana, daggers, three-section staff and shuriken. 
• She is enable to overpower thugs, Yakuza members, highly skilled ninjas and is able to get the upper hand in a duel against her former mentor Stick. 
• She is an Olympic-level athlete who strong is in gymnastics and swimming, with a high athletic level in human strength, speed, stamina, agility, dexterity, reflexes & reactions, coordination, balance and endurance. 

Abilities

• She is resistant to pain and extreme heat/cold and is also able to track shadows in such a speed, that she can remain unseen even in daylight.
• She has the ability to mesmerize others and make them see illusions or other phenomena.
• She has the ability to put her mind into others, and is able to track down her enemies. 
• She can temporarily "borrowing" people's minds and this temporary function enables her to use the psyche of her targets.
• She uses low-level telepathy which enables her to communicate telepathically with individuals who have similar levels of mental discipline.
